"Demoiselle 2 Femme, NFP"

Our mantra…
Faith moves in only one direction and is NEVER shaken by delays or circumstances!
Bishop H.W. Goldsberry

Demoiselle 2 Femme (D2F) was founded in December 1994, by Sherida Morrison and Romanetha Looper at Faith Temple COGIC with 14 girls in the Goldsberry Administrative house. Today, Demoiselle 2 Femme, NFP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with two offices/program sites. The French derived name celebrates the passage of a girl to a woman, and the numeral “2” symbolizes the natural and spiritual footsteps of that journey. The mission of D2F is to provide holistic services, education, instruction and training to assist adolescent girls in a successful transition to womanhood. In fulfilling its mission, D2F has provided prevention, education and college access programs to more than 3,000 girls ages 13-19 in the Chicagoland community for almost 21 years.

Through various programs, girls are challenged to utilize critical thinking skills in operation of one of the greatest powers humans possess- the power of choice. D2F has assisted hundreds of girls to graduate from college with more than 400 being first generation college grads. We have been blessed to employ as current and former staff 10 young women from Faith Temple COGIC.

The current vision of D2F is to build the HOPE Center for Girls in the Pullman/Roseland community which will provide social, cognitive and spiritual development programs for teen girls as well as a research and policy center. D2F is committed to providing young ladies with a life changing experience that will prepare them for life today and a future for tomorrow. Our expansion and positive contributions as an agent of change cause us to believe that the only limitation to the future of D2F is the sky!
